LenSx Femtosecond Laser

The femtosecond lasers in cataract surgery assist or replace several aspects of the manual cataract surgery including the initial surgical incisions and the breaking up of the lens. Berg Eye Group uses the LENSX Laser, which is used in more cataract surgeries worldwide than any other femtosecond laser. When it comes to cataract surgery you have an option of choosing the technology that’s used to perform the procedure. You have the choice between surgery performed by hand or with the assistance of laser technology. Either type of procedure is effective when performed by a skilled surgeon, but laser assisted-cataract surgical procedures are generally more precise.

ORA Sysytem

The ORA System is a big advancement in eye lens surgery. This technology analyzes many possible imperfections of the way light passes through the eye to the retina. ORA can tell if the eye is in focus at the time of surgery, and if it is not, the ORA System helps the surgeon focus the eye. While the process adds a couple of minutes of time to the surgical procedure, the ORA System may improve the accuracy of a patient’s astigmatism correction and reduce the dependency on eyeglasses after the procedure.
